Cover created for Microforum. Copyright © 2004 of Microforum SPA. Christmas Trouble is a "Christmas-branded" platform game. I've developed it when working for Microforum. The bad Toritonk has stolen Santa's Reindeer! With the help of his lovely elf Betty Christmas, Santa must quickly rescue all of them, or the year's gifts won't never be given to children! The game is played as a quick platform game: many levels, populated with monster that must be eliminated using hero's snowballs. A monster can also be picked up and throw off. When a monster is thrown on top of another monster, a Christmas object will appear and fall. This also starts a combo counter, shown as a little bar. If the player manages to repeat this throw with another monster, before the bar disappears, the combo counter goes to 2. If the player you reaches 5, the falling object is a letter of the word "CHRISTMAS". Doing so allows extra rewards, a-la Shadow or Claustrophobia. This system however is much different from my old platform "secret-rating" system, the reward now is given istantly, not when you finish a level. I've enjoyed developing XmasTrouble, picking up a monster and throwing him away is very fun! Doing it for completing the CHRISTMAS word adds a furious "pick and throw" frenzy... addictive! Even if it is nothing special, i'm also pretty proud of the result i've achieved with the Cover (the logo has been realized by Pierluigi Rauco, same author of Claustrophobia's logo): Betty seems to be nice and sexy at the same time, i hope to use her again in another game (maybe a Tactic Series one?)... my only regret is that her name isn't "Mary Christmas"... :) The game Christmas Trouble is Copyright © 2004 of Microforum SPA.
