Arcade Sidegolf is a special kind of golf game. The playground is displayed under side view: hills and slopes can be either overcome or exploited so as to get to the hole in a few shots.
Sidegolf is probably my masterpiece so long: it is original (a mix between golf and platform gaming), it is very simple to play with (easy to learn - difficult to master), a single session takes about 30-60 seconds of gaming (ideal for mobile devices), the graphics is very good (great job from Enrico Romano, I've created by myself just charachter's potraits and a few other things), there are a lot of levels highly charachterized, with a very well calibrated learning curve. It even has a great amount of replay value, people wants to play over and over the same holes to achieve a better score and finally unlock the secrets: get a score of 0 or better on every hole of the first two courses to unlock the third one, get a -2 score to unlock a secret golfer (which is also the only comeback from a previous game of mine :). Note that getting a -2 score is not trivial, the player needs a good amount of timing and strategy (where do I have to land my shots? which golfer do I have to choose?)
The musics this time are created by Marco Zoncu, a real man of genius (both a great musician and a great programmer): he has made a very good job, from the title music to the in-game jingles.
When I look back at Sidegolf I smile - I hope to keep the same quality inside my future productions.
